A publisher must give the translated ebook to Amazon so they will upload it as azw3 and get % of the income of course. Very complicated but in my country we don't make ebooks for Kindle due to legal issues. Then I converted to MOBI and got the book on my Kindle. Then I just re-uploaded the EPUB to Calibre and the DRM was gone. Downloaded the recent beta version of De-DRM (compatible with my Calibre version).
